Children’s Drama Workshops
INSTRUCTOR | Aine Healy-Richardson is the founder of The First Act, which is committed to creating a fun and educational environment where children’s emotional and imaginative development will be enhanced, and their confidence and self esteem levels increased, through their participation in drama activities.
STORY-MAKERS : Grades 1st – 2nd (unless by arrangement)
SATURDAYS | January 14 – March 17 | 9:15 – 10:45am
In this introductory class the children will enter the World of Dramatic play through the use of Music, Movement, Theatre Games, Story-telling and Dress-up. In this non-threatening and fun environment the children will learn how to improve their ability to use their voices and bodies to more confidently communicate in a group as well as stretching their imaginations through the use of age-appropriate creative exercises. From the shyest child to the most extrovert, there is something for everyone in this class. Class ends with a showcase in the afternoon of that day.

DRAMA DREAMERS : Grades 3rd – 7th (unless by arrangement)
FRIDAYS | January 13 – April 13 | 4:00 – 5:30pm
or SATURDAYS | January 14 – April 14 | 11:00am – 12:30pm
For those kids who already love theatre and those who want to try out for the first time, this class will provide the opportunity to explore their dramatic side through the use of Theatre Games, Music and Dance, Improvisation and Story-telling. Use of wardrobe and props will help focus on the art of creating Characters. Confidence-building, communication skills, teamwork and stage skills are just some of the areas that will be enhanced through this exciting ten week class. Class ends with the presentation of a showcase on the stage.
