About the Actors Workshop
FOR THOSE NEW TO THE STAGE, we’ll explore the basics of acting, learning to read a script to find clues as to who the character is and what motivates them, and making your performance truthful. Text for beginning actors will be, primarily, provided by the instructor. FOR THE FIRST CLASS: Be prepared to have fun and try something new.
RETURNING AND ADVANCED ACTORS will bring in their own choice of monologues and scenes and we’ll work on what you, individually, want and need to focus on – such as developing a wider range of characters, analyzing classical text, pacing, pushing the boundries of what type of material you’re comfortable performing, audition techniques, etc. The class is really for you to have a sounding board and a safe environment to continue experimenting and growing as an actor. FOR THE FIRST CLASS: Bring in a monologue you’ve done some work on.
SESSION FEE: Workshop fee is $150 for an 8 week session.
