LOVE LETTERS

by A.R. GURNEY

JANUARY 9-10, 16-18, 22-24 | 2009

MAIN STAGE | This unique and imaginative theatre piece is comprised of letters exchanged over a lifetime between two people who grew up together, went their separate ways, but continued to share confidences. As the actors read the letters aloud, they create an evocative, touching, frequently funny but always telling pair of character studies in which what is implied is as revealing as what is actually written down.

A different pair of Jacksonville’s finest actors performed on each of the three weekends.

Mr. Baille brought a quiet and understated presence to the role of Andy… Mrs. Baillie’s years of award winning direction shows up in her performance of Melissa with excellent timing, vocal variety and gestures, as she moves from carefree banter, to angry out-pouring and eventually to despair.
