Paul Zindel wrote his first play while still a teenager. His play The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds won the 1971 Pulitzer Prize in Drama. He was also an award-winning writer of young adult fiction and children’s books, a screenwriter, and a high school science teacher.
