The Adele Grage Cultural Center’s March Featured Artists are Heather and Holly Blanton
When: March 4-31 | M-F 8-4:30pm
Artist’s Reception: Thu, March 17, 5-8pm
Heather and Holly Blanton share the beautiful walls of the Adele Grange Cultural Center in Atlantic Beach this month. They are Jacksonville-born twins who both share a passion for art. The duo not only does fine art, but commercial art as well.
HOLLY BLANTON creates mixed media artworks and paintings. With a subtle minimalistic approach, she investigates the dynamics of landscapes, including the manipulation of its effects and the limits of spectacle based on our assumptions of what landscapes are to us. Rather than presenting a photo-realistic reality, an illusion is fabricated to conjure the realms of the imagination.
HEATHER BLANTON is a St. Augustine based painter specializing in sports racing scenes. While her main subject matter concentrates on the energy and thrill of competition, her work is a push and pull between minimal and chaotic. Her lively pieces center on marathons, cycling races, ski scenes, surfing and other competitive ventures in the athletic world.
The exhibit is free and open to the public weekdays, 8-4:30 pm. Start your evening off right on Thursday, March 17th and stop by the Adele Grage Center to meet the artists from 5-8 pm, during the North Beaches Art Walk.
