Welcome to our exciting, brand new web site courtesy of Caryl Butterley! We at ABET hope you’re having a pleasant and relaxing summer. ABET has just finished a very successful season culminating with a visit from the New York playwright to a performance of our last show The Exact Center of the Universe. What a thrill it was to welcome Joan Vail Thorne to our theatre and have her call our show a “wonderful production!”.

There are many great upcoming events planned at ABET. First up we have “ABET Summer Specials” – two outstanding productions in conjunction with other groups. In July, Tape, with Mixed Metaphor Productions, features a wonderful cast and one of our regulars, Thomas Trauger as director. In August, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged), an extremely funny show, will be presented with Skrank Tank Productions.
Our annual Extravaganza will be better than ever this year and is not to be missed. Then, our regular season begins on Sept. 11 with the blockbuster musical The Act. Please take a moment to see what a wonderful season we are offering. Besides The Act, an enjoyable original family musical, the Lizzie Borden original script, an Ibsen classic and two comedies – one brand new by the incomparable Neil Simon. You don’t want to miss any of it.
Of course, we couldn’t do this without you, the audience. As you know, in these times, funding for the arts has diminished more than ever and we depend on help from our wonderful backers and supporters. I hope you will all buy season tickets and consider helping us even more by becoming a backer.
